Biography of Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879, in Ulm, the Kingdom of Württemberg, in the German Empire. He was the first child of Hermann Einstein and Pauline Einstein. Hermann was a salesman, and Hermann was an engineer. Einstein was interested in learning and was good at math and physics from a young age. He attended elementary school in Munich, where he first became interested in science. In 1894, Einstein’s family moved to Milan, Italy, but he stayed in Munich to finish school.

Einstein finished high school in 1895 and moved to Milan with his family. He didn’t like living in Milan, so he quit school a year later and moved to Switzerland, where he planned to attend the Polytechnic School in Zurich. But he didn’t get in. Instead, he got into the Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich, where he studied math, physics, and electrical engineering. In 1900, he got his diploma.

Einstein had a hard time getting a job as a physicist after he graduated. From 1902 to 1909, he worked as a technical assistant at the Swiss Patent Office. Einstein had time to do his research and think about the universe’s mysteries while working at the patent office. In 1905, he wrote four important papers about the photoelectric effect, Brownian motion, the particular theory of relativity, and the idea that mass and energy are the same. Einstein became known as one of the best scientists of his time because of these papers. They also helped him get a Ph.D. from the University of Zurich.

Einstein became a professor at the University of Berlin in 1914 and was chosen to join the Prussian Academy of Sciences. Einstein continued to make significant scientific contributions while he was in Berlin. In 1915, he published the general theory of relativity, which he had worked on. The theory says that gravity is not a force between masses but a result of how mass and energy bend spacetime.

Einstein was also a supporter of civil rights, peace, and internationalism during his life. In the 1920s, he got involved in politics and started speaking out against the rise of fascism and antisemitism in Germany. Einstein and his family moved to the United States in 1933. He got a job at Princeton University’s Institute for Advanced Study. In 1940, he became an American citizen, and until he died in 1955, he worked at Princeton.

Einstein’s work had a significant effect on the development of atomic energy, and he got involved in trying to keep the use of nuclear energy under control. He also spoke out against racism and war and for civil rights and civil liberties. Even though he was famous, Einstein stayed humble and devoted to learning. He worked and published papers until the end of his life. His scientific legacy is still praised, and his name is linked to genius and a true example of theoretical physics.
